Tea filled days for the next year.

I will be living in the United Kingdom for a year. I will be living in the United Kingdom for a year. I WILL BE LIVING IN THE UNITED KINGDOM FOR YEAR!

Over the past months I have been caught up in the application process for the Young Adults in Global Mission program through the ELCA and it finally come to a conclusion: I will be serving as a YAGM missionary in the United Kingdom for the next year of my life. Now, I know the word "missionary" may be a scary term...and it is for me, too. Though, I have good news! Missionaries in the ELCA are all about accompaniment! That means that I am not going over to"bring Jesus" for He is already there, but rather I am going to work with, walk with and grow together with the people in the UK through service and volunteering. I am unsure of where exactly in the UK I will be and what I will be doing at this time, but will find out more within the coming weeks. All I know is that YAGM has already provided great friendships, opportunities and connections and that I could not be more excited to begin this journey!

As I go through this experience I will be writing blogs and a newsletter each month or couple of weeks in order to keep in touch and fill in others back in the states on what is going on across the pond.

Now, I will be fundraising approx. $4,000 dollars to help with expenses. This is incredible because it costs approx. $11,000 to send each volunteer each year. There are 57 volunteers serving all over the world in countries such as : Malaysia, Jerusalem West Bank, Argentina, South Africa, Hungary, Mexico, and Madagascar. Exciting stuff!!

As I venture through this, prayer and thoughts are welcome and needed. I thank you in advance for all of your support in any way.

This is the address for my blog while in the UK. I will be posting in there once I am settled in over there: http://yagmintheuk.blogspot.com/

Have a wonderful day!
